...except for the fact that college life caught up with me and though I checked DeviantART and posted a few times I know it wasn't enough. I considered canceling my account but I know that this is my only real outlet for my writing that I have. I will continue with Titanic Voices, I promise- that series has not kicked my butt yet and I have a feeling that this week will encourage me to write before I have to go back to school. I also have a new series or possibly novel floating around in my brain, which will focus on various trees and their stories. I think that it is an appropriate topic for the times, and I have always had a love for trees and all that they represent.

As you may have noticed, a couple of my slam poems are up here, though not all. I'm trying to refine my style before I slam again so I know what I'm heading into. I need to redefine who I am as a poet and what I am trying to say, because even through this first semester of college my views totally changed. I feel like there are a lot of different things I need to address now. Like, the birth of my friend's baby on December 21st. Like, the intense stresses of college and how it almost made me break. Like, redefining what religion and faith meant to me and how I have really come to challenge the views that I held, nonchalantly, all my life. And I feel like I want to reach out to more people too- why not do that through writing? Though writing may not be my career and it may not even play a huge role in my later life, for now it's important for me to sit down with a pen and paper and see what my hand has to offer.

I think that's something we all need to do every once in a while.
