No.
These books lie.
These words and these voices and
These photographs
Hoodwink us into thinking
Titanic is really gone.
No.
It was the Olympic, dear
Baby girl Titanic is still out there
Twanging lovely cello notes
And drifting with smooth propellers.
No.
Adrift like a ghost
Is she…
Damn those photographs
They feel so untrue, because in my heart
I was there
I am there
So I am drowned?
I am facedown in the water
Gasping for a breath my
Body cannot take?
I am dead?
NO.
My boy is still alive
I am still holding his hand deep
In the sea
Blue blue ocean
If lovely girl, Titanic, has broken
I am broken too.

Dawn
Behold the beauty of the sun
Reflected in the sea
The dawn's silent stretch across the sky
Is much more great than me
And how the water flashes back
A gleaming eye of verity
In which you can behold a glimpse
Of deep within and deep without this galaxy.
Literature
Shamditions
is there anything worse
than insomnia?
maybe this voodoo doll
who just won't stop staring at me
or maybe it's the frustration
with myself and my inability
to go back to sleep
to write how I want
you do not rule me or my art
take your traditions and walk away
or I swear on my art
which is my life
I will rip your traditions to shreds

As Night lovingly embraced Sky, her lover
And brought him down to her bosoms
Man sheltered themselves and fell still;
Not even their breathing was heard
While Stars danced above, lustful
Seducing before the lone, aroused Moon
Without Sun acknowledging their betrayal
Without Horizon witnessing their caresses
Then what story did mankind hold?
Too afraid to step into Darkness' domain
Too frail to bear the cold Frostbite;
Just hiding under the shade of blankets, shivering
That no soul under the Heaven said a word
That no tavern sang songs of the old
For there be only Silence, her and only ex

Finally, the Titanic Voices Installment for today! It seems to come later and later each Sunday. I do have an excuse this time, though- The Academy Awards. I didn't even finish, because I got bored during the Dreamgirls song performance [not that it was bad, I'm just tired] and came up here. I also have an awful awful respiratory thing that has popped up from spending too much time with sickeys at musical practice that I must take care of.
EDIT: How could I possibly forget? This is told through the voice of someone who doesn't believe that the Titanic actually sank- they thought it was the sister ship Olympus who sank instead. There were actually quite a few of these people around at the time who wouldn't accept the truth. The rumors were dispelled in 1985 when the Titanic was found.
